What is
Electromobility ?
Electromobility (or e-mobility) describes vehicles that are powered by electricity.
In addition to fully electric vehicles, this also includes plug-in hybrids and vehicles that convert hydrogen into electricity. Today, electromobility is considered the gold standard for environmentally and cost-conscious drivers.
But electromobility is nothing new. The first electric railway was already running in 1881 and the first electric locomotive even earlier. Kaiser Wilhelm II drove through the streets of Prussia in his Mercedes Electrique and the first car to reach speeds of over 100 km/h was powered by electricity.
Thanks to many technological regulations, electromobility is back in fashion - and will remain so this time.
Electromobility is our future
Until a few years ago, electric vehicles were simply not efficient enough. Although an electric motor can invest around 90 % of energy in driving the vehicle (petrol engines only around 40 %), the infrastructure for charging was lacking and the range of the batteries left a lot to be desired.
Today, things look very different.
Our electric vehicles can be conveniently charged wherever there is a socket. You don't need a special charging station and only pay the normal electricity price.
This protects the environment and is also much cheaper than a petrol vehicle.
